What is a New Covenant Experience ?

"Only those who are living up to the light they have will receive greater light. Unless we are daily advancing in the exemplification of the active Christian virtues, we shall not recognize the manifestations of the Holy Spirit in the latter rain. It may be falling on hearts all around us, but we shall not discern or receive it".--Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel workers 507 (1897).

As a fourth generation Seventh-day Adventist, I find it urgent that the topic of the Early and Latter rain be studied routinely. "The work will be similar to that of the Day of Pentecost. As the "former rain" was given, in the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at the opening of the gospel, to cause the upspringing of the precious seed, so the "latter rain" will be given at its close for the ripening of the harvest. 'Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.' Hosea 6:3. 'Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God: for He hath given you the former rain moderately, and He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain." Joel 2:23. 'In the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh.' 'And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.' Acts 2:17, 21" (Great Controversy page 611).

Purposefully, the Latter rain (the Fourth Angel's message Revelation 18:1-4) provides an outpouring of righteous teachings, flowing through righteous Loud Cry messengers; for the Sealing and Sanctification of God's people (Zechariah 10:1, Joel 2:23, Romans 8:30, Ephesians 4:30, James 5:7, Revelation 7:1-4). Historically, we know that the Early and Former Rain, The Holy Spirit's Outpouring, began in 31AD following the resurrection of Christ. Additionally we understand that the Day of Pentecost, the Former Rain, occurred fifty days following the Messiah's resurrection (precisely seven Sabbaths after His resurrection). The Day of Pentecost thus was an earthly symbol of Christ's coronation in Heaven; His inauguration into the Heavenly Priesthood (Psalms 110:4; Daniel 8:14, Acts 2:1-5; Hebrews 6:20, 8:3-4, Revelation 1:11-13,20;14:7, Great Controversy pages 352-353). Christ's coronation in Heaven, manifested as the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, was an anti-type of Aaron's typical earthly coronation into the Priesthood (Psalms 133:2, Review and Herald April 30, 1908 paragraph 6).  "'In the heavenly courts, Christ, with the angels who had accompanied him to heaven, had been received”.  “All the heavenly intelligences joined in this coronation
service of their Lord”. “The pentecostal outpouring upon the disciples was heaven’s communication to them that his inauguration was complete” (Review and Herald April 30, 1908 paragraph 6). Ultimately, we must focus on strengthening the true church of Christ, those that keep the Ten Commandments (God’s Immutable
Character Transcript) and the faith of Jesus Christ (Exodus 20; Revelation 12:17, 14:12).  Praise God, as Christ's Victory at the Cross is a Joyous Event for all mankind  HALLEJUAH, HALLEJUAH, HALLEJUAH (John 19:30) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 7].

One MUST constantly work on perfecting character, as it is imperative and the Word teaches such (Matthew 5:48, Acts 3:19, 1 John 3:9, Testimonies for the Church Volume 3 page 43, SDA Bible Commentary page volume 6 page 1096 paragraph 4, Christ's Object Lessons page 330 paragraph 1). The years 2008 and 2009, a serious time for our generation, have provided signs that point to the imminent passing of the Enforced National Sunday Law, the forthcoming Mark of the Beast (Revelation 13:11-18). Powerful/Elite False Protestant Entities in America will become the image of the Roman Catholic Church's Papacy, reinstating the laws of Sunday law persecution (Revelation 13:11-18). The National Sunday Law by definition will begin and apply to the United States of America, later becoming globally standardized, while the world welcomes a cashless system, a New World Order. America, with its tremendous Power and Influence, as per the scriptures, written by John the Revelator, will allow the Papacy to reestablish Sunday as a Persecutory law (Revelation 13:14), the Mark of the Beast.

The Mark of the Beast, enforced Sunday Pagan Worship, having "no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image" [Romanism and False Protestantism] (Revelation 13:11-18, Revelation 14:9-11), will cause a loss of purchasing power for God's chosen, who obey the Fourth Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11, Revelation 12:7, 14:12). However, the Creator will provide resources for His own "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna..." like coriander seed, honey wafers (Exodus 16:31, John 6:58, Revelation 2:17). "He shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall besure". (Psalms 37:25, Isaiah 33:16). The Ten Commandments, a legal and binding Heavenly governmental ordinance, will be a last day constitutional mandate, maintained by God's chosen (Exodus 20, Revelation 14:12). Spiritual Babylonians will be a tool by Satan, persecuting the remnant of Christ's seed (Revelation 12:17) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 85].

Ecumenism, a disguised method of passing this National Sunday law, will pose a serious threat to 7th-day Sabbath-Keepers who will seek reassurance from the Messiah, who overcame the World (John 16:33). Be encouraged, as persecution will purify the faithful body of Christ (Zechariah 13:9, Malachi 3:1-3, Titus 2:11-15, Revelation 14:1-5), reserving their seat at the throne of God (Revelation 3:21) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 85].

As we advance unto days of imminent persecution as God's remnant, it is imperative that we remain joyous as Enforced Sunday laws will refine us as gold tried in the fire; and the intensity of Satan's fiery darts of earthly fines and imprisonment will purify our characters (Great Controversy page 604-608). "And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God" (Zechariah 13:9, Malachi 3:1-3, Titus 2:14). A shaking process has begun, caused by the straight testimony of Christ (Hebrews 12:26, Early Writings pages 269-271). Remember that not one of Christ's faithful elect perished in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 Ad (Isaiah 4:3, Great Controversy page 34-37). Spiritual Israelites, preparing for translation from earth must reproduce the character of Christ, following the Lamb, Yeshua, where ever He goes, refuting false doctrine with guile-free, deceit-free mouths (1 Corinthians 15:50-52, 2 Corinthians 11:2, 1Peter 2:22, Revelation 14:1-5). The righteous living by faith, by placing themselves in perfect harmony with the Most High and keeping His Ten Commandments, will stand through the day of final destruction (Ephesians 1:13, 4:30, Revelation 6:17, 7:1-4, 12:17, 14:12, 22:14). "The remnant of Israel shall not do iniquity, nor speak lies; neither shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth: for they shall feed and lie down, and none shall make them afraid" (Zephaniah 3:13) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 25].

Historically, the Three Angels' Messages (Revelation 14:6-12) have left their mark, each Angel, reserving a space in Earth's history. The first Angel's message occurred in 1831 A.D., (Early Writings pages 232-237, Great Controversy page 331) the Second Angel's Message in 1844 A.D. (Summer) , (Great Controversy page 389) and the Third Angel's Message in 1844 A.D. (Fall) (Great Controversy page 432). Herein lies our focus for this study, as the Loud Cry of the Third Angel's message is where we stand today in 2008, extending into 2009 a time of judgment, where the populace's skepticism will increase, and devastation will visit the earth. The Lord and His Eternal power are causing a shaking on the earth by way of His straight testimony which will continue to its second shaking for Spiritual Babylon, as He is earnest to seal His chosen (Hebrews 12:26, 1Peter 4:17, Early Writings pages 269-271). Unquenchable earthly fires will devour refined estates; while navies, air crafts and railways experience calamities without a moment's warning. Probation for the world is closing: the end is near (Signs of the Times April 21st 1890 paragraph 11, 1Peter 4:17, Revelation 22:11). The onset of the Loud Cry Message, 1888, set forth the occurrence of Latter Rain, an Outpouring of the Holy Spirit, sent to revive the Seventh-day Adventist Church of its Laodicean condition which existed since 1859 (Testimonies For The Church Vol 1, page 185-186). Thus, it remains imperative that we study to shew ourselves approved unto God (2 Timothy 2:15). We must search the scriptures daily for light and knowledge, as "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple" (Psalms 119:130, 1Selected Messages 359.2). Once God's chosen begin to study diligently, the enemy, Satan, will make every effort to attempt to shut out their light, thus it is imperative that our hearts be filled with the Word, Christ the Messiah (Galatians 4:19, Colossians 1:27) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 84].

As time advances and God’s people seek to edify the populace about the New Covenant Experience and the True Witness, Christ Jesus the Elijah Message becomes such an important focus (Malachi 4:5-6). The remnant, people of God, are given a reformatory message similar to Elijah, who preached to earthly King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. Elijah’s message is related to our End Time messages of revival and reformation, calling the people of God back to the Divinity of God, repentant in nature. John the Baptist, a righteous martyr, preached the Elijah Message, as the people of God need to preach this same message (Matthew 3:2, 3; 11:9-15) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 6].

The precious message of Justification by Faith presented at the General Conference in Minneapolis in 1888 set forth the beginning of the Loud Cry Message and the Latter Rain (Hosea 6:3, Joel 2:23, Zechariah 10:1, James 5:7, Romans 5:1, Revelation 18:1-4, Testimonies to Ministers page 91-92). Thus we understand that exactly forty-four years following Christ's entrance into the Most Holy Place (October 22, 1844), at the end of the 2300 year prophecy, we were sent a POWERFUL message from God. Undoubtedly, we are in the antitypical day of atonement: Christ is our Passover Lamb (1Corinthians 5:7). Such a message, represented at a Camp Meeting in Rome, New York, is a message of God, bearing divine credentials "for its fruit is unto holiness" (Review and Herald September 3, 1889, 1 Selected Messages 359 paragraph 1). To Sanctify means to make holy, thus God expects nothing less than our advancement in holiness, through the Righteousness of Christ (Ephesians 2:8-10, Philippians 3:9-11).

The Review and Herald (September 3,1889)
described God's Justification by Faith Message, as water, quenching the thirst of those who eagerly sought the Messiah's provisions, highlighting the fact that "the righteousness of Christ is imputed to us, not because of any merit on our part, but as a free gift from God...". Such a blessing to know that our (Food) Manna, the Word of God, is sure, as we, God's children are promised the complete Truth (Isaiah 33:16-17, Psalms 37:25, John 14:6). Thus, we being fed the Heavenly Word of God must develop a genuine hatred or abhorrence for sin (Review and Herald March 18, 1890) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection pages 38, 84].

The Latter rain and the Loud Cry at its onset of 1888, a revival unprecedented, taught of the Messiah's glory and honor, magnifying the name of the Son of God and His Character, the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20). Those teaching that the Ten Commandments are to be erased are in error and will be held accountable for such actions, as Christ's Ten Commandments, a legal and binding Heavenly governmental ordinance, will be a last day constitutional mandate, maintained by God's chosen, (Exodus 20, Revelation 12:17, 14:12). Spiritual Babylonians will be a tool by Satan, persecuting the remnant of Christ's seed (Revelation 12:17).

God wants all to look unto Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Character perfecting is essential, as the Messiah's Character, must be our character, and all excellence is found in Him, as we "keep pace with the Third Angel's Message" (Matthew 5:48, Testimonies For the Church Volume 3 page 43, Manuscript 10, 1889, 1Selected Messages 362). This hallmark of the Loud Cry Message, the Latter Rain, beginning in 1888, alerts God's chosen to the seriousness of the times. The Loud Cry Message, the Latter Rain, is a warning for all to "lift up Jesus, to present Him to the world as revealed in types, as shadowed in symbols, as manifested in the revelations of the prophets, as unveiled in the lessons given to His disciples and in the wonderful miracles wrought for the sons of men". The Righteousness of Christ is our only hope, enabling us to stand during the early time of trouble along with Jacob's time of trouble ( Review and Herald November 22, 1892) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 85].

The Loud Cry of the Third Angel's message was recapitulated by the Fourth Angel with added power and glory (Revelation 18:1-5). The Latter rain teaches of Christ's atonement for our sins, as He bore the curse of the law (Galatians 4:4). As Overcomers, by grace through genuine faith, we can be Victorious over sin, perfecting Christian characters, through the Righteousness of Christ, as whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. As we seek to gain Salvation from the Merits of Christ, our soul will make progress, preserving our Salvation plan. "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Matthew 5:48, John 3:16, Hebrews 11:6, Ephesians 2:8-10, Philippians 3:9, 1Thessalonians 5:23) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 86].

God the Father, the Husbandman and Pruner, will effect the process of purging all character defects that interfere with our advancement in Sanctification (John 15:1-7). The purpose of purging is to bring forth more fruit. As Christians, anything preventing the reproduction of the fruit of the Spirit will be purged by the Husbandman, God the Father (John 15:1). Galatians 5:16-26 edifies that if we are walking in the flesh then then Christ's character will not be reproduced. If we are walking in the flesh then a Spiritual walk is denied access and fulfillment. An unconverted person will manifest the works of the flesh. The purging process is to remove the unChrist-like characteristics (Galatians 5:16-21). Anything that is not within the fruits of the Spirit is within the works of the flesh. All fleshly traits even that which is hidden from our view must be given up, purged, crucified (Galatians 2:20). Purging is a cleansing process only active within an abiding relationship with Christ [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 88].

Once we are abiding in Christ, purging will remove branches not bearing fruit. Any branch that beareth not fruit, hinders perfection of character. Trials and problems are used to purge us in our Christian walk. By focusing on Christ, the defects that hinder our character perfection will be removed by the Pruner, God the Father, the Husbandman. Whom the Lord loveth, he chasteneth (Hebrews 12:6). The works of the flesh must be purged out, so that the fruit of Spirit can be manifested. "My Father is the husbandman", thus it is God the Father that does the purging (John 15:1). Skillfully, God removes the sin from our lives, by grace through faith, as we faithfully trust in Him (Ephesians 2:8-10). God will remove all that He needs to remove. We need not fight against the providence of the Lord. Trials, a providence, enables the purifying process (Zechariah 13:9, Malachi 3:1-3, Titus 2:14). Thus, by grace through faith and sanctification we must thank God for trials and tribulation. We must first be born again through the promises of God. Sufficient grace is given to a child born of God, overcoming sin (1John 3:9). Righteousness, virtue and knowledge are taught in 2Peter 3:18, illustrating a process of sanctified advancement (Romans 8:30, 1Corinthians 1:30). Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain (James 5:7) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 89].

HOW CAN WE DETERMINE THAT THE LATTER RAIN WILL BRING GOD'S HARVEST TO THE MEASURE OF THE STATURE OF THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST (EPHESIANS 4:13)?

The Scriptures clearly direct God's true remnant to pray for the latter rain. "Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; so the Lord shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain.' 'He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain" (Review and Herald, March 2, 1897, Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers pages 506-507).

The Third Angel's message swelled into a Loud Cry beginning in 1888. We must not feel at liberty to neglect our present duty, as today we are to have our vessels purified, that it may be ready for the heavenly dew, ready for the showers of the latter rain; for the latter rain will come, and the blessing of God will fill every soul that is purified from every defilement. It is our work today to yield our souls to Christ, that we may be fitted for the time of refreshing from the presence of the Lord--fitted for the baptism of the Holy Spirit [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 86].

"Instead of living in expectation of some special season of excitement, we are wisely to improve present opportunities, doing that which must be done in order that souls may be saved. Instead of exhausting the powers of our mind in speculations in regard to the times and seasons which the Lord has placed in His own power, and withheld from men, we are to yield ourselves to the control of the Holy Spirit, to do present duties, to give the bread of life, unadulterated with human opinions, to souls who are perishing for the truth" (Review and Herald, March 22, 1892).

As we approach Christ, our Intercessor, sincerely at the throne of mercy we must pray for the Outpouring of the Holy Spirit:

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Mark 4:28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

We accomplish this by walking righteously in the Spirit and Faith of Christ, our Redeemer, manifesting the character of God, Overcoming the world; guided by the Ten commandments, the Decalogue (Exodus 20, John 16:33).

James 2:12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

The Former Rain was not fully received, as many felt that Christ's return would compensate for the lack of human purity in Character which is erroneous (Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers pages 506-507):

As we seek the Latter Rain, we must continue to allow the Holy Spirit to work on refining our hearts. Solely, the Holy Spirit can ripen the harvest. Through ongoing faith in Christ, our Savior, we can continue to find joy and pleasure, as we refine our minds and hearts. We must sincerely attempt to gain confidence in the Holy Spirit, by faith as Abraham. The latter rain as promised will come, if we continue to pray and seek Christ, in our diligent work, focusing on edifying families, manifesting a burden for souls (Matthew 28:19); spreading the Everlasting Gospel to all the world (Revelation 14:6-7). God wishes that no one would be lost (A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 86).

Overcomers in these end times will be fueled by the Holy Spirit's Early and Latter rain (Jeremiah 5:24, Zechariah 10:1, James 5:7, Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers pages 506-507), bringing God's Harvest to the "Measure of the Stature of the fullness of Christ" or "The Full Corn in the Ear" (Mark 4:28, Ephesians 4:13). Our focus, the manifestation of the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), as we "take on the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD" (Ephesians 6:17). The church of Philadelphia (brotherly love) is true Adventism, a bride, without spot or wrinkle, eagerly awaiting its Bridegroom, Christ, Yeshua (Ephesians 5:21-31, Revelation 3:7-13). As we prepare for the Latter Rain (James 5:7), embracing the return of Christ, true sincere believers must focus on becoming harvest ripe, perfecting characters. Harvest ripe by biblical definition entails a process of establishing ..."first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear"(Mark 4:26-29). "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19). Once our characters have become converted and faultless, we have reached the stage of "the ear" , poised for the showers of the Spiritually enriching Latter Rain (Zechariah 10:1, Matthew 5:48, Acts 3:19, James 5:7, 1John 3:9, Testimonies for the Church Volume 3 page 43) [A Soul Sealed at Character perfection page 90].

The body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12-13), the harvest, needs to earnestly pray for the latter rain:

Deuteronomy 11:14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.

Proverbs 16:15 In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favor is as a cloud of the latter rain.

Jeremiah 5:24 Neither say they in their heart, Let us now fear the LORD our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, in his season: he reserveth unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

Hosea 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Joel 2:23 Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

Zechariah 10:1 Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field.

James 5:7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.

God wants us to be consecrated to His service, each hour, concerned about the refining of our characters, praying and sharing truth with every nation, kindred, tongue and people (Revelation 14:6,7). Our commitment to God must be a focus that is undying, assisting us with the preaching of the Eternal Word, the Power, Wisdom and Love; characteristics of the Godhead, the Everlasting Gospel (Deuteronomy 6:4; Proverbs 8:22-36;John 1:1-3,14; Romans 1:16,17,20; 5:1-5).

The Spirit of Man, The Candle of the Lord

by Dionne Sabbay Thompson November 18, 2008

God has given us all things by virtue of the Word. The Spirit of man is where the Character of humankind is stored. Proverbs 20:27 edifies that "The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly". The writings of Solomon edify that the spirit of man is our light and truth. Here, we see Solomon expounding on the fact that God uses His Divine Spirit to search into the humanistic spirit of man, spirit to Spirit. John 15:4 teaches us that the Husbandman, God the Father, the Pruner will remove things from our Character that require eradication. The Spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. Things found in our character and minds shape the way we worship our Creator.

We must have a genuine fellowship with God, in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:23-24). We must remove anything that hinders advancement and progress in the Lord. As our character development and cleansing continues; we must sacrifice anything that is hindering our advancement in the Spirit of Christ, removing anything ungodly. All the works of the flesh must be removed from our human spirit. Then and only, then, can we receive the Seal of the Living God (Ephesians 4:30). Solomon in Proverbs 23:7, tells us that what we think in our heart, is what we are; our thought processes reveal what is in the human spirit. Here, the heart is defined spiritually as the seat of intelligence, as the heart's expression in this instance, is not congruent with what is in the human mind. Psalms 119:9-11 teach us that we can not hide from things which are manifested in our heart, as " Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee ". When we pray we are talking to God and when we are studying and abiding in the Word, God is responding to us (John 15:1-7).

Christ being our Vine allows a process of purging, eliminating all the defects of character. Once the harvest, God's remnant, are fully purged, then and only then can Christ leave the Most Holy place to prepare for His speedy return to reap the ripen harvest (Revelation 14:14-16). We must abide in Christ in order to reach a point of Mark 4:26-29 's "ear" of corn overcoming sin (Matthew 5:48, Acts 3:19, 1John 3:9, Testimonies for the Church Volume 3 page 43, Christ Object Lessons page 330 paragraph 1). Christ is the Vine and His Father is the Husbandman, forming the Deity within the Godhead. If we are not abiding in Christ, we can NOT perfect Character. We must have God formed fully in us (Galatians 4:19, Colossians 1:27), focusing on the Messiah, identifying what is in His Will. John 15:1-7 identifies that we can do NOTHING without Christ, the Vine.

We abide in Christ, by surrendering to Him fully, as we study the Word. If we do not have an active prayer and study life, then we are not abiding in Him. Having a New Covenant Experience, we must accompany such with an abiding symbiotic, absolute, sanctified Messianic relationship, as converted and repentant from our fleshly nature. We can not fool the Lord. We must ensure that we truly have a born again experience, purging out the old worldly, fleshly ways, abiding fully in the Savior. That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit (John 3:6). Once a New Covenant Experience is achieved, we can go on, preparing for the outpouring of the Latter rain which will bring the Harvest to its full maturity, the Full Corn in the ear (Matthew 5:48, Mark 4:28, Acts 3:19, 1John 3:9, Testimonies for the Church Volume 3 page 43). This will prepare the 144,000 to withstand trials and tribulation without Christ, our Intercessor and Mediator (Daniel 12:1, 1Timothy 2:5).

We can not overemphasize the importance of personal bible study, as it is essential for nourishing our new lives in Christ. Spiritually, we must receive the truth for ourselves. We must seek and have a relationship with God, surrendering and submitting our lives fully to Him. Within this relationship, we can ask God and He will provide all things, according to His Divine plan. The first hours of the day should belong to the Lord, a private devotional time, nourishing our souls. Our spiritual lives if left undernourished will die spiritually of starvation; a branch withering away having no source of life. The Holy Spirit will move us to pray and study, asking wholeheartedly for spiritual growth and development. We must abide in Christ, having His Word, abiding in us. Once we keep the Word, magnifying the Ten Commandments and the Faith of the Messiah, we can thrive Spiritually from Everlasting Light (Isaiah 8:20, Revelation 14:12).

Hebrew 4:12 identifies that the Word is sharp, edifying that we must find empowerment in the Word, spiritually. The Word is quick, alive and powerful. God establishing everything through His Word, remembering the creation of the earth, as God spoke and all was done in Perfection (Psalms 33:9, John 1:1). This is the same word that is given to us, enabling us to abide in Christ. Hebrews 1:3 edifies that Christ upholds all things by the Word of His Power. In six days God created all His creations, which remain functioning until today, upheld by the Word. This same Word is given to us, in our relationship with God and our studies. When we awake in the morning, we see the beauty of the sun, remembering God's Divine Eternal Power. When we fall from Truth into sin, we have separated ourselves from the Word of God ( Matthew 5:48, Acts 3:19, 1John 3:9, Testimonies for the Church Volume 3 page 43).

In order to Overcome sin, we must abide in the Word and its Power. While Christ was tested by Satan in the wilderness, He responded "It is written", identifying the Power in the Word (Matthew 4). Hebrews 4:12 edifies that the word is filled with Power. We are intelligent beings, therefore we can choose whether we uphold the Word. We can either accept or reject the Word and its Truth, the difference between standing on Truth or being Overcome by the World. Far too often, we step out of our relationship with God, resulting in us being overcome by Satan, who takes control. The Word is "piercing" and a "discerner of the thoughts and intent of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). The Apostle Paul's analogy, empowered by God, teaches us that the Holy Spirit gave him the Power to write, edifying that the Word is like a two-edged sword. Deep within the human soul is the human spirit, "the joints and marrow", Paul makes a comparison to the soul and spirit, as the soul is the bone and the spirit is the marrow. The spirit is the highest developed area in the human soul. God made human spirits so that He could relate to us, because God is a Spirit (John 4:23-24).

We were made in the image of God, such a notion has far more deeper meaning than our minds can contemplate. Paul further states that the soul of man is a comparison to bone and marrow, once the spirit has been revived, then the Spirit of God has taken up residence in our bodies, allowing us to overcome the flesh. Now the Spirit of God takes over, allowing it to be Sanctified. The body manifests our behaviors physically, visibly, allowing human communication and physical movement. The Apostle Paul says the Word "is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). Our thoughts and motives originate within the Spirit, similar to how red and white blood cells begin in the bone marrow. The Human spirit can not survive the death of the soul, within the marrow is the life, the defense mechanism. The life of the flesh is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11). We must have the Word of God hidden in our Spirit. Hebrews 4:13 edifies that everything is manifested in the sight of God, as He observes everything. The study of biology indicates that there are both red and white blood cells. The blood cells are the primary defenses in the human system, providing immunity fighting against sickness and disease. Similarly, when we store the Word of God in our spirit, we will have immunity against the disease of iniquity and lawlessness: sin is non-compliance to the Ten Commandments (1 John 3:4).

God uses the Word, the Lamp, to search within the inward parts of the human spirit within the human soul (Hebrews 4:12). The Word and Wisdom of God is Yeshua, Christ Jesus, created in the flesh, overcoming the world; remaining spotless and without blemish (John 1:14, 16:33, 1 Corinthians 1:24,30, 1Peter 1:19). Remembering the onset of creation, God the Father executes all work through the Word, the Wisdom of God (Psalms 33:9). Christ is the Head of the Church, yearning to empower a body of Christ, necessary for the vindication of His Divine Character, ultimately concluding the Great Controversy (Ephesians 2:21-22, 4:21-31). Remembering that God wishes that we have the Word in our Hearts and in our minds, the Divine Spirit works through the Word, reaching the human spirit. If the human spirit is separated from the Word, then the Word has no Power in our lives. We must allow God, the Father, to do His work of searching deep down in our soul (John 14:10). The writings of Solomon teach us that what we think, is what we are. When the Lord reveals flaws in our Character, we must thank Him, as we pray for God to remove it and replace it with the fruits of the Spirit. When we are born again,we are privy to the Divine Spirit of God. The Word then gives life and produces according to the Divine Nature and Character that we chose to possess. As he thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). The Divine Spirit, like a lamp searches our inward parts of the soul. Zechariah 12:1 edifies that the Spirit of man is created and formed by God, the difference between our spirit and God's Spirit is that God's spirit is Divine and Eternal. When Adam was made in the image of God, he was given a spirit, enabling him to commune with God. Man's spirit was created in Adam, and since Adam sinned our spirit can die. The soul and spirit of man is not immortal and it can die. Ezekiel 18:20 edifies that "the soul that sinneth, it shall die".

We must be born again, within a New Covenant Experience with Christ, through the power of the Word (Hebrews 8:10, 10:16). The spirit that has died can be reformed. The Apostle Paul edifies in Ephesians 2:1, that before we are quickened, we are dead in trespasses and sins. Within Hebrews 4:12 we learn that the Word of God is quick and powerful and without it , we are dead to our trespasses. Without the Word, we can not be made Spiritually alive. This same thought is expressed in Ephesians 4:18, as we are separated from the blindness of our heart. Before we are born again and formed spiritually in the life of God, we are ignorant and blind. Our heart and soul and mind needs our Spirit to be refined and lightened from that which is dead. This is how Christ makes us new, through the Word that produces the Eternal Power to give the Light, thus, we need the Spirit of the Lord in our human spirit (Romans 1:20). Zechariah 12:1 teaches us that when we are spiritually dead, we need the light formed from the Spirit of God. The Lord forms us in His image, giving us the Spirit through His Word, empowering us, englightening us, allowing us to live the Christian life. We must abide in Christ (John 15:1-7). Without the Spirit of God it is not possible for us to walk in Christ.

The Lord is in the business of forming His Divine Spirit within us. Adam gave up God's Spirit through His sin and transgressions. John 1:12 edifies that in order for us to be born again, worshipping Him in Spirit and in Truth, we must be born of the Spirit (John 4:23-24). John 3:3-5, teaches us that we must be born again, to see the kingdom of God. The Lord through His Word quickens and revives us spiritually, requiring us to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Without the indwelling of the Spirit, our worship will not be accepted, and trespasses will cause spiritual death. Proverbs 20:27 must be remembered as the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. God uses the Divine Spirit to manifest secret sins. Sin is non-compliance to the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20, 1 John 3:4). The Ten Commandments, the Law, and the Testimony of Jesus Christ, the Word, is our sole Guiding Light (Isaiah 8:20). The Spirit shows us who we are so that we can be delivered from our lawlessness and iniquity. 2Corinthians 5:7 edifies that if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.

God's Remnant & Character Purity

by Dionne Sabbay Thompson June 1st 2009

God is returning for a church without spot or wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27). "The Lord has a great work to be done, and He will bequeath the most in the future life to those who do the most faithful, willing service in the present life. The Lord chooses His own agents, and each day under different circumstances He gives them a trial in His plan of operation. In each true-hearted endeavor to work out His plan, He chooses His agents not because they are perfect but because, through a connection with Him, they may gain perfection" (Christ Object Lessons page 330 paragraph 1). "The glory of Christ is revealed in the law, which is a transcript of His character, and His transforming efficacy is felt upon the soul until men become changed to His likeness. They are made partakers of the divine nature, and grow more and more like their Saviour, advancing step by step in conformity to the will of God, till they reach perfection" (SDA Bible Commentary Volume 6 page 1096 paragraph 4).

We must boldly approach His throne, crying out for purity, asking God for mercy and grace (Hebrews 4:16). The power of God is given unto all who are willing to receive it fully and believe, as without faith it is impossible to please God, while diligently seeking Him (Romans 1:16-20, Hebrews 11:6). 1 Thessalonians 5:23 edifies that we are to be preserved blameless and faultless in spirit, soul and body before the Lord, the Creator, who is the only wise God, able to keep us from falling (Jude 1:24-25). We must understand and believe, because a lack of faith is the greatest issue between God and His remnant. Similarly, the nation of Israel was not able to enter into the promise land because of lack of faith, as they sent spies into the land, fearing giants.

Ezekiel 20:12 edifies that only Christ can sanctify us, and He gave us His Sabbaths; a visible manifestation of the living Sealing footprint. Proverbs 4:18 reminds us that God requires us to increase in knowledge daily, learning and arriving at increased wisdom. The more we listen and study, the more we will believe as our faith grows, having a constant connection to Christ. God makes it clearer each day that we walk in the pathway of truth. If we do not believe, the pathway of truth becomes dimmer and dimmer; distancing us from the Creator. Yeshua is the way truth and life (John 14:6) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 93].

Power is invisible but, we can visualize its effects (Romans 1:20). We must have faith to see that which is invisible. Romans 5:20 edifies that there is far more grace in relation to sin. The word of God is complete power, as God spoke and things came into being (Psalms 33:9). God commanded and the sun took its position, maintaining its position to this day. This is the same eternal power that created the sanctified Sabbath, empowering God’s remnant to perfect characters, reigning victoriously over sin (Matthew 5:48, 1John 3:9). This same, eternal power, causes the sun to rise each day; within this energy driven universe: God’s power sustains the sun and planets, all components within the solar system (Psalms 33:9, John 1:1) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 72].

Enforced Sunday Law, the mark of the Beast, is nearer than we think (Revelation 13:11-18). All must be serious about their soul salvation, standing for the ministry of God. Earthly, Babylonian Kingdoms have fallen. Spiritual Babylon denotes anything that is initiated outside of God’s divine plan. John 18:36 edifies that Yeshua’s kingdom was not of this earth. The latter rain outpouring with the message of righteousness by faith, constituted the onset of the loud cry (Zechariah 10:1, James 5:7, Revelation 18:1-5, Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers page 91-92). The last resort of Satan will be to pass and enforce National Sunday law, a death decree, persecuting the seventh-day Sabbath-keeping saints, by means of imprisonment and punishment (Great Controversy page 604-608). Satan will initiate his final resort once the remnant people of God utilize the power of God unto complete sealing, having a fixed, immutable relationship with Yeshua, accepting His gift of perfect righteousness (Philippians 3:9). Babylon is fallen, is fallen and we must not be found within it, as it is doomed to collapse (Revelation 18:1-4). God's infinite everlasting power is evident in the display and retention of the sun, the moon and the stars. Satan aims to control the mind and conscience of mankind all over the world. The adversary aspires to have dominance over the god-given liberty of all, as he desires to be worshipped (Isaiah 14:14-18). We must advance in sanctification growing in truth (1Peter 3:18). Satan fell away from truth failing to repent, and thus he will be destroyed. Satan wants the populace to believe that it is acceptable to continue sinning until Yeshua returns (1John 3:8). However, mankind has been renewed, given a gift of a New Covenant Experience through Yeshua, the Last and Second Adam, a renewing spiritual reproductive line for all who choose it (1 Corinthians 15:45).

Yeshua can bring us to a point of being eternally fixed. Angels of mercy will apply a seal to our foreheads, preserving us during the times of tribulation, the seven last plagues, caused from a degeneration from God's truth and laws [Ten commandments, God's immutable character]; a separation from the Creator (Exodus 20, Revelation 7:1-4, 16:1-17). Angels are currently holding back the winds of strife, praying that we perfect characters, unto Yeshua’s speedy return (2Peter 3:12-13). God will not fix a seal to anyone that is found with iniquity in their lives, as He knows who belong to Him (2 Timothy 2:19). John the Revelator saw 144,000 a large number in relation to people that God has been able to perfect character within, given biblical history. 1Corinthians 3:10-11 edifies that the foundation is Christ. We must fully submit to Yeshua, allowing a complete transformation. God’s children must accept the ways of God, not permitting a life of sin, as it is a functional contagion (1 John 3:4). Isaiah 28:1-14 states that we must study the bible line by line and precept upon precept. Death and hell are caused when the symbolic material of our human structure or buildings are constructed outside of the will of God (Isaiah 2:17). When Yeshua lays a foundation we are not to be led away by the ways of carnality (Galatians 5:16-21).

Yeshua is the best material, a living stone. Ancient Israel was disobedient as they failed to build their house on the best material, Yeshua, the Chief Corner Stone. 1 Peter 2:7 reminds us that Yeshua is a Precious Stone; the Head of the Corner Stone. Ancient Israel was caused to stumble, because they rejected, Yeshua, the best building material, a solid foundation. 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 edifies that all other foundations will be unstable and shatter. The Chief Corner Stone can be trusted, as it has been tested and proven to be secure. Gold, silver and precious stones are desirable and Yeshua has edified us that the fire of persecution will purify us as precious stones tried in the fire (Zechariah 13:9, Malachi 3:1-3, Titus 2:14). We are to accept Christ the precious stone (1 Peter 2:7-8). The fire or persecution does not create character, but it is the test, exposing the material that is used to make the building, the character experience. Yeshua has been brought to the test, winning victoriously (John 19:30). The higher the temperature, the purer the precious stones become, eliminating waste matter. Every man’s work shall be revealed by fire or persecution. Through the fire of persecution, one can identify the quality of materials that are brought to each character experience. Wood, hay and stubble will instantly be devoured as they are not built on Yeshua, the best foundation, the Living Stone. Our house must be built on Christ, the ROCK. This is a powerful message, teaching us about where Christ needs to be in our life. Christ holds all eternal power. The Creator of the universe can allow us to perfect characters, unto complete sealing, hastening His imminent return (2 Peter 3:12-14) [A Soul Sealed at Character Perfection page 96].
